Refunds & warranties policy

Overview

At Giava Interiors, we are committed to upholding the highest standards in design, craftsmanship, and client service. This policy outlines our warranty coverage and refund conditions outside of our standard returns process. For details on return eligibility, timeframes, and procedures, please refer to our Returns Policy or full Terms of Service.

12-Month Workmanship Warranty

Giava Interiors offers a 12-month warranty on defects in workmanship, construction, and materials used in our furniture and décor items. This warranty is valid from the date of purchase, provided:
- The item was produced or assembled exclusively by Giava Interiors Pty Ltd.

- The product was used in a reasonable and intended manner.
- The product was properly installed according to any accompanying guidelines.

This warranty covers faults that occur during normal residential use and excludes any third-party alterations or misapplication.

6-Month Materials Warranty

We guarantee that materials used in the manufacture of our goods will be free from degradation or structural failure for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase, provided they are subject to ordinary residential use.

Warranty Start Date

Warranties commence on the date of purchase, as stated on your invoice, regardless of delivery or installation date.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the following:
1. Custom handmade or made-to-order goods.
2. Damage caused by incorrect or inadequate maintenance, cleaning, or care.
3. Defects resulting from accidents, misuse, negligence, alterations, exposure to moisture, humidity, sunlight, salt air, insects, or pets.
4. Any non-residential or high-traffic commercial use.
5. Wear and tear of fabrics, including fading, wrinkling, colour fastness, or dye lot variations.
6. Softening or settling of filling materials under normal use.
7. Slight warping or natural variations in wood grain or colour.
8. Any transport, measuring, installation, or labour costs.
9. Products altered, repaired, or modified by anyone other than Giava Interiors.

Residential vs Commercial Use

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, warranties apply only to goods used in private residential settings. Products used in commercial or hospitality environments are not covered under standard warranties.

Warranty Claims Process

To lodge a warranty claim:
- Submit your claim in writing to info@giavainteriors.com.
- Include:
  - Your original proof of purchase
  - The order number
  - A detailed description of the issue
  - Clear photographs of the product

We reserve the right to inspect the item at the delivery location or on return. No verbal claims will be accepted. This warranty is non-transferable and becomes void upon resale of the item.

Damaged or Defective Goods on Delivery

If your item arrives damaged or defective, you must notify us in writing within 48 hours of delivery. Claims received after this period may not be accepted. Once assessed, we may offer a repair, replacement, or partial refund, at our discretion.

Refunds for Unavailable or Cancelled Products

All orders are subject to availability. If a product becomes unavailable after purchase:
- You will receive a full refund within 5 business days.
- In the event of a pricing error on non sale items, we may cancel and refund the relevant products in full.
- If you cancel an order, a reasonable cancellation fee may apply, particularly where custom goods or materials have already been procured. Deposits used to secure special-order or bespoke materials are non-refundable, and cancellation does not entitle you to claim repayment of such amounts.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Giava Interiors' liability is limited to the repair, replacement, or refund of the product in question. We do not accept liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

Compliance with Consumer Protection Act

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act (Act 68 of 2008).

Optional Extended Warranties

Extended warranties for hospitality or commercial use may be available on request, depending on the product and intended environment.
